Microsoft Project Server and Microsoft Project Web Access.
Minimum System Requirements for Microsoft Project Server
The minimum system requirements include the following.
Note A Microsoft Windows 2000 Server-based computer with a Pentium III
700-megahertz (MHz)-processor and 512 megabytes (MB) of RAM is the recommended
system.
- Personal computer with a Pentium III 500-MHz-or-higher
processor.
Note Processor, RAM, and hard disk requirements are highly dependant
on the number of services that are installed on the computer. Minimum
requirements apply only to Microsoft Project Server and assume that components
such as SharePoint Team Services from Microsoft, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, and
other services run on separate computers. - One of the following operating systems:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server with Service Pack 1 or
later.
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Service
Pack 1 or later.
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or later, or Microsoft Desktop
Engine (MSDE). (MSDE is included with Microsoft Project Server.)
Note You must have Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or later for enterprise
project and resource management. - Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 or
later.
- The memory requirements are as follows:
- For Microsoft Project Server, 128 MB of RAM is
required. 512 MB of RAM is recommended.
- If you install SharePoint Team Services, an additional
128 MB of RAM is required. 192 MB or RAM is recommended.
- If you install Microsoft SQL Server 2000, an additional
64 MB of RAM is required. 128 MB of RAM is recommended.
- If you install Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services,
an additional 64 MB of RAM is required. 128 MB of RAM is
recommended.
- For each additional service that you install,
additional RAM is required.
- The available hard disk space requirements are as follows:
- 50 MB is required for a typical
installation.
- If you install a typical installation of SharePoint
Team Services, an additional 70 MB is required, plus 5 MB for each provisioned
Web site.
- If you install a typical installation of Microsoft SQL
Server 2000, an additional 250 MB is required.
- If you install a typical installation of Microsoft SQL
Server Analysis Services, an additional 130 MB is required.
- For each additional service that you install,
additional hard disk space is required.
- CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
- Super VGA-or-higher-resolution monitor.
- Microsoft Mouse, Microsoft IntelliMouse, or compatible
pointing device.
Additional items or services that you must have to use certain
features include the following:
- SharePoint Team Services (included with Microsoft Project
Server) for the project collaboration features of Microsoft Project Server. The
security features of SharePoint Team Services require the NTFS file
system.
- Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (included with
Microsoft SQL Server) for the Portfolio Analyzer (Online Analytical Processing,
or OLAP, Reporting) feature of Microsoft Project Server.
- Microsoft Exchange, Internet Simple Mail Transfer Protocol
(SMTP)/Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3), Internet Message Access Protocol 4
(IMAP4), or MAPI-compliant messaging software for e-mail notifications.
- Multimedia computer to access sound and other multimedia
effects.
- Some Internet functionality may require Internet access by
means of a 14,400-baud-or-higher modem or a high-speed connection, and payment
of a separate fee to a service provider. Local and long distance telephone toll
charges may apply.

The minimum system requirements include the following.
Note A Microsoft Windows XP Professional-based computer with a 300-MHz
processor and 192 MB of RAM is the recommended system.
- Personal computer with a Pentium 133-MHz-or-higher
processor.
- One of the following operating systems:
- Microsoft Windows 98.
- Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition.
- Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me).
- Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6 or
later.
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional.
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional.
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or later. (Internet
Explorer 5.5 or later is recommended.)
- The memory requirements are as follows:
- For Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition: 24 MB of
RAM for the operating system plus 8 MB of RAM for Microsoft Project Web
Access.
- For Windows Me, Windows NT Workstation 4.0, or Windows
NT Server 4.0: 32 MB of RAM for the operating system plus 8 MB of RAM for
Microsoft Project Web Access.
- For Windows 2000 Professional: 64 MB of RAM for the
operating system plus 8 MB of RAM for Microsoft Project Web Access.
- For Windows XP Professional: 128 MB of RAM for the
operating system plus 8 MB of RAM for Microsoft Project Web Access.
- 5-15 MB of available hard disk space is required for a
typical installation of Microsoft Project Web Access.
