SUMMARY

Under certain circumstances, you may have to hide the Outlook 2002 icon from your desktop after installation. Follow these steps to hide the Outlook 2002 icon.

  1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe or Regedit.exe).
  2. Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{00020D75-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
  3. Right-click the {00020D75-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} key, and then click Delete or Rename.
  4. Quit Registry Editor.
To see the changes take affect, you must refresh your desktop. To do this:
  1. Minimize all open windows.
  2. With the left mouse button, click your desktop.
  3. Press F5 to refresh your desktop.
NOTE: The Desktop icon is typically computer specific. If you create the HKEY_Current_User key, the icon on the desktop becomes user specific.
