You receive a "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available" error message when you try to install Publisher 2002

When you try to install or upgrade Microsoft Publisher 2002, you may receive the following error message: You are then prompted for the Publisher 2000 CD-ROM or the Microsoft Office 2000 Disc 2 CD-ROM.

NOTE: The name of the CD-ROM requested may differ, depending upon how you installed Microsoft Publisher 2000.

If you insert either CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, you receive a message that states that the Data2.msi file cannot be located. Microsoft Publisher setup cannot continue.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Start Microsoft Publisher 2002 Setup.
2. On the User information page, type your user information, and then click Next.
3. On the installation type page, click Complete Install, and then click Next.
4. Click Keep all previous versions, and then click Next.
5. Click Install.
6. Click OK.

NOTE: After you finish these steps, you can remove earlier versions of Microsoft Publisher by using the Add or Remove Programs tool in Control Panel.
