FIX: Your Application Loses Focus If You Cancel the Properties Dialog of the ADO Data Control

SYMPTOMS

If you click Cancel in the Data Link Properties dialog box when you use the ADO Data Control (Msadodc.ocx), your application loses focus.

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.

When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

Start the ActiveX Control Container Test application.
On the Edit menu, click Insert New Control.
Select Microsoft ADO Data Control 6.0, and then click OK.
On the Edit menu, click Properties.
Click Use Connection String on the General tab, and then click Build. The Data Link Properties dialog box opens.
In the Data Link Properties dialog box, click Cancel.
