Microsoft Application Center 2000 may occasionally log event ID 8022 error messages that are similar to the following:

Description: The Performance Log consumer could not read the Processor Utilization (Server Avg Cluster Avg) performance counter from Performance Data Helper (PDH). Status is 0x800007d6 A counter with a negative denominator value was detected.


Event ID 8022 error messages do not necessarily indicate a problem with Application Center.

CAUSE

This problem may be caused by intermittent timing issues in the performance data handlers for many counters. This problem does not necessarily indicate a problem with Application Center or Microsoft Windows 2000 if it occurs infrequently.
