When you view the Calendar in the 1-Day view in Microsoft Outlook 2002, there is an area above the daytimer part of the calendar and below the date label. If you double-click this area, a New All Day Event starts with a reminder set for 18 hours. However, if you double-click this area for a future date that is at least 18 hours away from the current days date, the New All Day Event starts with a reminder of 15 minutes instead of for 18 hours.
If you start the New All Day Event from any other menu, the default reminder will be for 18 hours for the future date as expected.
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
