If you point to a Distributed File System (DFS) share in Windows Explorer, right-click the share, click Properties, and then click the DFS tab, the active DFS share is marked as Yes in the Active column. If you close the Explorer, and then open it again, the active DFS share may change to a different server that may not be in the same site as the DFS client.
