If there is a semicolon in an attribute name, Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI) cannot retrieve that attribute. For example, the iPlanet server, a third-party Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server, contains two attributes of the user object: cn and cn;lang-en. When you try to retrieve the cn;lang-en attribute, you receive the following error message:
