Color-management may stop working and may start to leak memory. When this occurs, the program may return error code 2011, which is a misleading error. The error message for error code 2011 is:
The specified color profile is invalid.
CAUSE
The CreateMultiProfileTransform function does not work after being called approximately 1,000 times. When this occurs, GetLastError returns error 2011. Additional calls to the CreateMultiProfileTransform function cause a memory leak in the program.

To work around this problem, quit and then restart the program that uses color-tranform functions. This releases all the memory.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
