After you upgrade your Exchange Server 5.5-based servers to Exchange 2000 Server in a mixed Exchange Server 5.5 and Exchange 2000 Server
environment, you cannot use Exchange System Manager to delete the Site Replication service (SRS) from the upgraded remote servers.
CAUSE
When you upgrade Exchange Server 5.5-based servers to Exchange 2000 Server in a mixed Exchange Server 5.5 and Exchange 2000 Server
environment, the Exchange 2000 Server Setup program does not automatically delete SRS. You cannot use Exchange System Manager to delete the SRS from the upgraded remote servers. WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, use any of the following methods to delete the SRS from the upgraded servers:
How to Manually Delete SRSAfter you upgrade the last Exchange Server 5.5 Service Pack 3 (SP3) computer in your Exchange Server organization to Exchange 2000 Server, follow these steps to manually delete SRS:NOTE: If you delete SRS and any Exchange Server 5.5 computers still exist in your Exchange Server organization, all directory replication between Exchange Server 5.5 and Exchange 2000 Server stops. Microsoft recommends that you do not delete SRS until after you upgrade your whole Exchange Server organization to Exchange 2000 Server. To manually delete SRS:
