FIX: Your Windows application stops responding in the .NET Framework 1.0 on a Windows NT 4.0-based computer

In the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0, you may notice that your Microsoft Windows application may stop responding when it performs the following actions on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows NT:

1. The application puts several Panel controls recursively one upon another.
2. After this, the application calls the WebRequest.GetResponse method and waits for a Web response.

When this behavior occurs, the application stops responding (hangs). If you open Task Manager, you can see that CPU utilization is at 100 percent.

Note This problem only occurs on computers that are running Windows NT 4.0. On computers that are running Windows 2000 and Windows XP, you will not experience this problem.
