When you try to add a Microsoft Windows XP Professional computer to a Microsoft Small Business Server 2000 domain, you may receive one of the following error messages: A domain controller for the domain DomainName.local could not be contacted. Ensure that the domain name is typed correctly. If the name is correct, click Details for troubleshooting information. The following error occurred when DNS was queried for the service location (SRV) resource record used to locate a domain controller for domain DomainName.local: The error was: "DNS name does not exist." (error code 0x0000232B RCODE_NAME_ERROR) The following error occurred when DNS was queried for the service location (SRV) resource record used to locate a domain controller for domain DomainName: The error was: "This operation returned because the timeout period expired." (error code 0x000005B4 ERROR_TIMEOUT) CAUSE
