site over a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection in Microsoft Internet
Explorer and create a new folder in the Document Library, SharePoint Portal
Server may stop responding (hang). When this symptom occurs, you must restart
Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 to restore SharePoint Portal
Server functionality. Because of this, you cannot add a new folder to the
Document Library in SharePoint Portal Server over an SSL
connection. CAUSEThis problem may occur if both of the following conditions
exist:
RESOLUTION A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, submit a request to Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix.
