SYMPTOMS

Pictures with .TIF extensions do not show up the "My Pictures" section of the Media Center interface.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur when you have installed Microsoft Office 2003 on your Media Center computer.  Installing Microsoft Office 2003 adds event handlers for TIF image files (.TIF and .TIFF extensions) as part of the Office Document Imaging feature.  In the process, a registry entry for .TIF files is removed that is required to display .TIF files in Media Center.
