SYMPTOMS

When you restart your server or Fax service, the Fax service hangs during the start up process.

CAUSE

There are several known reasons for the problem described above:

1. The local disk storage that hosts the fax queue is full.

2. The Fax Printer is not being shared or the share level permissions are not sufficient.

RESOLUTION

1. Verity that the local disk storage has enough free space to accept new faxes.

2. Verity that the "Fax" Printer is shared with the following permissions:

     "Everyone" Group - "Print" permission.

"Administrators" Group - "Print", "Manage Printers", "Mange Documents" permissions.

"Creator Owner" Group - "Mange Documents" permission.

"Print Operators" Group - "Print", "Manage Printers", "Mange Documents" permissions.

"Server Operators" Group - "Print", "Manage Printers", "Mange Documents" permissions.
