SUMMARYLinks to slides within a presentation and/or Macros assigned to Action Settings may stop working when the presentation is saved with a long file name or a file name with special characters SYMPTOMSLinks to slides within a presentation may stop working when the presentation is saved with a long file name or a file name with special characters (such as an exclamation point). Objects with Macros as an Action Setting may stop working when the presentation is saved with a file name with special characters (such as an exclamation point). CAUSEPowerPoint uses the file name as part of the link for hyperlinks within a presentation. Since a finite amount of storage is available for hyperlinks, long file names will use up this space more quickly. Special characters in a file name may also cause the hyperlinks and/or macros to stop working. RESOLUTIONShorten the presentation file name and remove all special characters.
