SYMPTOMS

After lunching internet explorer 7, a error page with the following content may appear:
 
"An HTTP error occurred while getting:

http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx
 
Details: "connect timed out". "

CAUSE

After lunching the internet explorer 7 in the first time, a customize wizard should appear.
Unsuccessful process of the wizard may cause to a missing registry keys.

RESOLUTION

 
1. Backup the Windows registry/create a system restore point.
 
2. Under the registry key:
 
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main"
 
 
In Vista, chose either 32-bit or 64-bit according the internet explorer version that you use.
 
 
create two "DWORD" values (With a value of "1"), with the following names:
 

"RunOnceComplete"

"RunOnceHasShown"
 
3. Restart the internet explorer.
