SYMPTOMS

When Direct File Access is enable, the users can view every shares on a file server that has been allowed by the Exchange administrators. The shares displayed include visible and also hidden shares (hidden shares are shares that contain a $ at the end of the share name).
Normally, hidden shares do not appear in Explorer while using UNC path.

For information, administrative shares (c$, d$, etc.) are not shown by the Direct File Access functionality.
