Article ID: 75458 - Last Review: January 9, 2007 - Revision: 1.3 ACC95: Two-Digit Dates Not Interpreted Correctly Importing Data from Text FilesThis article was previously published under Q75458 SYMPTOMS
When you import data from a text file into Microsoft Access, dates that
contain years with two-digits are always interpreted as years between 1900
and 1999.
CAUSE
Microsoft Access 7.0 does not handle two-digit years between 00 and 30 as
years between 2000 and 2030.
RESOLUTION
When you import data from a text file, ensure that all the date values use a format that includes a four-digit year. For example:
1/1/1999 -or- Jan 1, 1999 STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. | Article Translations
