PRJ: Gridline Formats Print Differently Than DisplayedArticle ID: 75845 - View products that this article applies to. This article was previously published under Q75845 SUMMARY
In a Microsoft Project Gantt Chart, the line separating the time scale
from the table portion of the view, and the line between the first two
table columns may display differently than they print.
MORE INFORMATION
When viewing a Gantt Chart on screen, the line separating the time
scale from the table portion of the view is always shown as a solid
line, but when printed, the line uses the formatting for the Title
Vertical gridlines.
In Project 2007 and earlier versions, you can alter the format in which this line prints by choosing Gridlines from the Format menu and selecting the desired options. In Project 2010, you can alter the format in which this line prints by clicking the Gridlines button on the format contextual tab and selecting the desired options.
Another effect of changing the gridline type for Title Vertical is that the gridline between the first two columns of your table will also display this same formatting if the first column is locked. Although this line displays the formatting for Title Vertical, it always prints using the formatting for Sheet Columns. In Project 2007 and earlier versions, you can lock and unlock the first column of your table by choosing Define Tables from the Tables menu, selecting a table from the list, choosing the Edit button, and either checking or unchecking the box for "Lock first column." In Project 2010, you can lock and unlock the first column of your table by clicking Tables on the View tab, choosing More Tables from the Tables menu, selecting a table from the list, choosing the Edit button, and either checking or unchecking the box for "Lock first column."
