Article ID: 79482 - Last Review: November 16, 2006 - Revision: 1.2 WD: "No Proofing" Is Selected If Two Languages Are SelectedThis article was previously published under Q79482 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Word, if you select text that
contains formatting for two or more languages, and you then click
Language on the Tools menu, the Mark Selected Text As box appears to indicate that No Proofing is selected.
CAUSE
The Mark Selected Text As box cannot display more than one
selection at a time. If you select text that contains
formatting for two or more languages, the list box is displayed with
the focus at the top (which may make it appear to be selected),
however, this effect is not a selection.
If you press the TAB key, the focus shifts to the OK button. If you unintentionally select the No Proofing option by pressing the SPACEBAR and clicking OK, the selected text will be set to No Proofing and will not be checked if you subsequently run the Spelling or Grammar command. | Article Translations
