SYMPTOMS

After you suppress performance library (perflib) event messages by setting the

EventLogLevel

registry setting as described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article, perflib continues to log event messages:

Note The information in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 226494 only affects messages that perflib reports. For example, an Event ID 1008 message has output similar to the following:

CAUSE

This problem occurs because perflib does not check the EventLogLevel registry setting in all error paths.

STATUS
