After you suppress performance library (perflib) event messages by setting the
registry setting as described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article, perflib continues to log event messages:

226494 INFO: Events for Performance Monitor Extensions
Note The information in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 226494 only affects messages that perflib reports. For example, an Event ID 1008 message has output similar to the following:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Perflib
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1008
Date: 10/28/2002
Time: 1:00:0 PM
User: N/A
Computer: server
The Open Procedure for service "PerfDisk" in DLL "D:\WINNT\system32\perfdisk.dll" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. Status code returned is data DWORD 0.
Data: 0000: 68 10 00 00 h...

This problem occurs because perflib does not check the EventLogLevel registry setting in all error paths.
