Percent Signs (%) Appear on Menus for Media Clips

SYMPTOMS

When you right-click a media clip, you may see %Play% with Media Player on the shortcut menu.

-or-

When you click Object on the Insert menu in a Microsoft Office program, you may see %Media Clip% in the Object type list.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you slipstreamed Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) with an installation of Windows 2000.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
