STOP 0x00000050 in Error Message in Atmfd.dll When You Use Type 1 FontsArticle ID: 811769 - View products that this article applies to. On This PageSYMPTOMSDuring the rendering of an Adobe PDF document, you may
receive the following error message in Atmfd.dll:
0x00000050 (0xf0009ed5, 0x00000000, 0xbee02ab3,
0x00000002) PAGE_FAULT_IN_NO_PAGED_AREA CAUSEThis behavior occurs because a null pointer is returned when
you use an Adobe Type 1 font that contains a data structure that is not valid.
A null pointer may be returned with valid fonts, but in such cases the computer
is under high stress. The high stress causes a synchronization problem between
the asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) font cache and the current thread that is
trying to access a font that has been removed from the cache. After you install the update, the Adobe Font Manager may not load a font that is corrupted or has a data structure that is not valid. When you use the built-in font manager to preview a font that you think may be corrupted, you may receive the following error message when you try to preview the font: Error: The requested file c:\winnt\Fonts\Font
Name. PFM|c:\winnt\Fonts\Font Name.
PFB was not a valid font file. RESOLUTIONService Pack InformationTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:260910
