Gemplus Smartcard Drivers Are Not Included in Windows Server 2003

You cannot use the drivers that are included in Windows Server 2003 to install your Gemplus GemPC430 smart card reader. When you connect the GemPC430 smart card reader to your computer, the Hardware Installation Wizard cannot find the correct drivers. This occurs although the online help file states that the smart card reader is supported.

This issue occurs because the drivers for the GemPC430 smart card reader are not included in Windows Server 2003. You can use the GemPC430 smart card reader with Windows Server 2003, but you must first obtain drivers from Gemplus.

To resolve this issue, contact Gemplus to obtain updated drivers for your GemPC430 smart card reader.
