Installation by using the Active Directory Users and Computers utility to
configure the security permissions of the policy, the Domain
local groups of the domain do not appear in the Select Users,
Computers, or Groups dialog box. You cannot add a Domain local group from the domain to the security permissions of the Software Installation policy settings that you configure. CAUSEThis behavior occurs when you edit the Group Policy object
in a child domain by using the Active Directory Users and Computers tool in a
parent domain. The Domain local groups of the parent domain appear in the Select Users, Computers, or Groups dialog box. However, the Domain local groups of the child domain do not appear. RESOLUTIONService Pack InformationTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Windows 2000.
