SYMPTOMS

Programs that use the Microsoft .NET Framework System.Eventlog class to capture printer events that are written to the event logging service may experience "out of memory" errors.

Windows XP

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. You can see the leak by using the performance-monitoring tool to record the handle count and the private bytes counters of the leaking process.
