When you try to start one of the programs that are listed in
the "Applies To" section, you may experience one of the following symptoms:
- The Microsoft End User License Agreement (EULA) may
appear.
- You may be prompted to register the product.
- You may receive the following error message:
This application cannot display the End User License Agreement.
This agreement must be displayed and accepted prior to running this application
for the first time. Please reinstall the application you are trying to
run.
This problem may occur although you have previously registered
the program and may occur each time you start the program.
To correct this problem, use the following methods in the
order presented until the problem has been corrected.
Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious
problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft
cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry
Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
Method 1: Modify the Windows Registry
To prevent the EULA or Registration dialog boxes from appearing
when you start the program, follow these steps:
- Quit the program that is causing this problem.
- Click Start, and then click
Run.
- In the Open box, type
Regedit, and then click OK.
- Expand the Windows Registry, and then locate the following
key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Works Suite\2002 - Do one of the following:
Important: To complete this step, use one of the following registry keys
appropriate for your product:

- If the registry key exists, follow these steps:
- Click the registry key.
- Right-click EULA (the DWORD entry
that is listed under Name), and then click
Modify.
- In the Value data box, type
1, and then click OK.
-or- - If the registry key does not exist, follow these
steps:
- Click the Works Suite\2002
key.
- On the Edit menu, point to
New, and then click Key.
- Type the registry key, and then press
ENTER.
- Right-click the registry key that you created in
step c, and then click Modify.
- In the Value data box, type
1, and then click OK.
- On the File menu, click
Exit to quit the Windows Registry.
- Quit and restart the product.
The EULA or Product
Registration should not appear.
Method 2: Delete the Works Suite 2002 Registry Key
To delete the Works Suite 2002 registry key, follow these
steps:
Note Deleting this key may cause problems with other Works Suite
products. Make sure to back up the registry before you proceed.
- Quit the program that is causing this problem.
- Click Start, and then click
Run.
- In the Open box, type
Regedit, and then click OK.
- Expand the Windows Registry, and then locate the following
key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Works Suite\2002 - Click the 2002 key.
- On the Edit menu, click
Delete.
- On the File menu, click
Exit to quit the Windows Registry.
- Start the product that is causing this problem.
- In the Microsoft End User License
Agreement dialog box, click I Agree.
- In the Online Registration dialog box,
click Register Now, and then complete the product
registration.
- Quit, and then restart the product.
The EULA and
Product Registration should not appear.
Method 3: Replace the EULA and Registration Files
To replace the EULA and product registration files, follow these
steps:
- Quit the program that is causing this problem.
- Start Windows Explorer.
To do this, right-click
Start, and then click Explore. - Find the CD-ROM of the product that is causing this
problem, and then insert that CD-ROM into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM
drive.
- Important Use the following table to identify the files that you must copy.

are appropriate for your product from the CD-ROM
Drive:\Product\MSMap\Common\MSShared\WSShared\
folder. Paste them to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Works
Shared folder. - Copy Eularegn.dll from the CD-ROM
Drive:\Product\Msmap\Pfiles\Msmap
folder. Paste it to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Works
Shared folder and the C:\Program Files\ProgramFolder
folder, where ProgramFolder represents one of the
following, as appropriate for your product.
