Plus! Digital Media Edition Alarm Clock Sound Does Not Turn Off

SYMPTOMS

When you try to click Turn Off Ring to turn off an alarm in Plus! Digital Media Edition Alarm Clock, the alarm sound may not turn off as you expect. It may take several mouse clicks on Turn Off Ring to stop the alarm sound. You may also receive an access violation error message.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the alarm clock title contains too many letters and special characters, or when your Plus! Digital Media Edition version is out of date.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, download and install the Plus! Digital Media Edition update. To do so, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, shorten the name of the alarm to less than 20 characters, and then remove any special characters from the alarm name:
  1. Start Plus! Digital Media Edition XP Alarm Clock.
  2. Click the problem-causing alarm, and then click Change Alarm.
  3. In the Name of alarm box, type a short name for the alarm that contains letters only, and then click Next.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the alarm change process.
