In Microsoft Project Web Access (PWA), when you try to
access the Portfolio Analyzer and use the Pivot Table functionality on a Novell
authenticated only network, you may experience the following symptoms:
- Project Server 2002 may stop responding.
- The Office Web Components (OWC) pivot-table may fail
without an error.
- You may not be able to access the OLAP cube.
These symptoms occur if Project Server 2002 or PWA is used in a
Novell environment with only Novell authentication.
Microsoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
at the beginning of this article.
OWC tries to bind to the cube by using Microsoft Windows NT
authentication. OWC cannot find the Analysis Services computer in the same
domain if Novell NetWare Directory Services (NDS) is used for
authentication.
