Cannot Map a Network Drive Under Different User Credentials

If you use the Map Network Drive Wizard to connect to a network share by using different user credentials and you use the browse functionality to locate the network share, you may receive the following error message: You receive this error message even though you are not aware of making a different connection.

Note To install this fix, you must be running Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1). Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and Windows XP Media Center Edition already include SP1.

When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.
