Clear History Command Does Not Delete History from the Open Dialog Box

When you use the Clear History command on the Privacy tab of the Options dialog box in Windows Media Player 9, the file history lists are not deleted in the Open and Open URL dialog boxes.

The Help topic about setting privacy options is in error when it states the following:In fact, only the most recently used files on the File menu will be cleared.

To clear the list of files from the Open and Open URL dialog boxes, follow these steps.

1. Right-click Start.
2. Click Properties.
3. Click the Start menu tab.
4. Click Customize.
5. Click the Advanced tab.
6. Click Clear List. It may take a minute or more to process the command.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
