SYMPTOMS

When you try to create a new e-mail message or forward a message, you may receive the following error message:
The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists restart Outlook

CAUSE

This issue may occur if all the following conditions exist:
1.You upgrade to Windows XP.
2.You install Windows XP to a new folder.
3.You reinstall Office XP.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, obtain and install Outlook 2002 Public Update: October 4, 2001.
