You receive an error message when you use the "Edit with Microsoft Word" command in Word 2007 or in Word 2003

SYMPTOMS

When you open a document in Microsoft Internet Explorer, and then you try to edit the document with Microsoft Office Word 2007 or with Microsoft Office Word 2003 by using the Edit with Microsoft Word command on the Internet Explorer File menu, you receive the following error message:
The function you are attempting to run contains macros or content that requires macro language support. When this software was installed, you (or your administrator) chose not to install support for macros or controls.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if both the following conditions are true:
Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is not installed on your computer.
The document that you are trying to open is already open in Word.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, quit all instances of Word, and then do one of the following:
Open the document in Internet Explorer, and then on the File menu, click Edit with Microsoft Word.
Start Word, and then open the document.
