Resolução

You may be able to resolve this issue by using the Inbox Repair Tool to analyze and to repair the .pst file. A .pst file is a personal-folders file that stores your email, contacts, notes, calendar items, and other data.

The steps to use the Inbox Repair Tool differ, depending on your computer?s operating system. Use the appropriate set of the following steps to resolve this issue.

Note If the .pst file is an ANSI-format PST and is larger than 2 gigabytes (GB), the Inbox Repair Tool (Scanpst.exe) does not work.

For more information about ANSI and Unicode formats for .pst files and about how to add a new Unicode PST to your Outlook profile, see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

829971  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829971/ ) How to create a .pst file in Outlook 2003

For more information about ANSI and Unicode .pst file size limits, see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

This article is intended for a beginning to intermediate computer user.

Prerequisites

As you follow the steps to resolve the issue, you are asked to use a file that is typically a hidden file. In order to be able to find that file when you want it, you must configure Windows Explorer to show the hidden files on your computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start

  2. Click the View tab.
  3. Under Advanced Settings, click Show hidden files and folders, and then click OK.

Next Steps

If the methods that were described earlier do not resolve the issue, you can try creating a new Unicode .pst file, setting it as default, and then importing the data from your older .pst file. For information about how to create a new .pst file and setting it as the default, see the "How to Point Outlook to Your New Personal Folders File" section of following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
291636  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291636/ ) How to move your personal folders (.pst) file in Outlook

To import the original PST, it must be removed from the Outlook profile. While Outlook is running, right-click the name of the Outlook data file (.pst) that you want to remove from the Outlook Bar or Navigation Pane, and then click Close name. If the Close command is not available, you are probably trying to remove the default Outlook Data File (.pst) file that is used to save your new messages. The article that was referenced earlier provides the steps to change the PST that is used as the default delivery location.

After you remove the original PST from the profile, you can import the data into the new PST by using the "How to import .pst file data into Outlook" section of the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

287070  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287070/ ) How to manage .pst files in Outlook 2007, in Outlook 2003, and in Outlook 2002

If these methods did not help you, you may want to ask someone you know for help. Or, if you use Outlook with Exchange Server, you might want to contact the Exchange Server administrator for help.
