WD2000: Repeated Clicks in Table Cell Causes Error Message

SYMPTOMS

When you repeatedly click in a table cell that contains text, for example, you triple-click the table cell to select the cell, you may receive the following error message:

Microsoft Word for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you click the click here link, you may receive an error signature that is similar to the following:

   AppName       AppVer       ModName       ModVer       Offset
   --------------------------------------------------------------
   Winword.exe   9.0.0.7316   Winword.exe   9.0.0.7316   00062970

Note The AppVer and Offset columns of the error signature may be different on your computer.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if both of the following conditions are true:

The table is contained inside a text box.
You have an AutoShape formatted as Behind Text in the document.

After the hotfix is installed, the English version of this fix will have the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
