FIX: Incorrect Cardinality Estimates for NOT EXISTS Predicates After You Upgrade to SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade to SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3, the SQL Server query optimizer may incorrectly estimate the cost for queries that involve a predicate that uses a NOT EXISTS (<subquery>) construct. The estimate will be too high, and results in poorly performing queries as compared to SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 2.
