When you use your Xbox console, you may receive the following error message:

Invalid game region. Make sure the disc is an Xbox game. Remove the disc to continue.

We design Xbox game discs to work only with Xbox consoles that are sold in your region.

THINGS TO TRY

Determine whether the game disc is from the same region as the region where you purchased the Xbox console. You can verify the region by viewing the back of the game package.
If this behavior occurs with only one or two discs, search the Knowledge Base for the specific game title or titles. If you find a known problem, follow the information that is outlined in the article.
If this behavior occurs with only one or two discs, and no known problem exists, return the disc or discs to the retail store where you made the purchase.
If this behavior occurs with more than two discs, you may require Microsoft to service the console.

We design Xbox game discs to work only with Xbox consoles sold in same region as the game discs. For example, American game discs only function with an American Xbox console, Japanese game discs only function with a Japanese Xbox console, and European game discs only function with a European Xbox console.

The following regions use the corresponding game encoding:

North America (United States, Canada, and Mexico): NTSC
Asia (Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan): NTSC-J
Europe, Australia, and New Zealand: PAL
