How to obtain the latest Windows XP service pack STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2. MORE INFORMATIONWindows needs immediate access to paging file contents when
it comes out of standby. The Atapi.sys driver must wait for devices that hold
paging files to be available when Windows needs them. This causes the Atapi.sys
driver to take long time when resuming. When Windows is resuming, the driver does not have to wait for the disk devices that do not contain paging files. This reduces the time that it takes to resume from standby. The third-party products that are discussed in this article are manufactured by companies that are independent of Microsoft.
