On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you try to use a dial-up connection to connect to the Internet, the modem does not dial the phone number or it misdials the phone number. Additionally, when you view the Connect using list on the General tab in the Connection_name properties, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
CAUSEThis problem occurs if multiple modem devices are installed in the computer and if one of the following conditions exist:
