How to use DVD looping on your Original Xbox console

This article describes DVD looping with the Xbox DVD Movie Playback Kit.

You can choose a starting point and an ending point on a DVD. The Xbox displays that part of the DVD continuously.

Procedures

Note If the loop is very short, it may appear that the movie is locked up or paused at a certain point. When you press the Play button on the remote control, the movie does not continue to play.

To view the status of this feature, follow these steps:
  1. Play a DVD movie in the Xbox console.
  2. Press the Display button on the Xbox DVD remote control to show the on-screen menu.
  3. Press the Right Arrow button to select A-B.
  4. The description field on the left of the on-screen menu displays one of the following:
    • A-B Repeat Off
      The loop feature is off.
    • A-B
      The loop feature is on.
To use the loop feature, follow these steps:
  1. Press the Select button when you reach the starting point for the loop. The description field changes from A-B Repeat Off to A-.
  2. Move through the DVD the point where you want the end of the loop to occur. You can wait for the movie to play or use the Forward button followed by the Play button to reach this point.
  3. Press the Select button to set the end of the loop. The description field changes to A-B. Then, press the Display button to hide the on-screen menu.
  4. To turn the loop off, use one of the following methods:
    • On the on-screen menu, select A-B, and then press the Select button.
    • Turn off the Xbox console.
    • Restart the DVD.
