How to use the DVD Movie Playback Kit with your Original Xbox console

This article describes how to use the DVD Movie Playback Kit so that you can play DVD movies on your Xbox console.

To connect the DVD Movie Playback Kit, follow these steps:

1. Put batteries in the remote control.
2. If the Xbox console is on, turn it off.
3. Connect the infrared receiver to any controller port on the front of the Xbox console.

To play DVDs, follow these steps:

1. With the infrared receiver connected to the Xbox console, put a DVD movie in the disc tray.
2. After the tray closes, the DVD will start playing.
3. Use the remote control to control movie playback. Its functions are outlined in the DVD Movie Playback Kit instruction manual.

To use a universal remote, use one of the following methods:

• You can program a universal remote to playback DVDs by using the RCA DVD code. For programming instructions, see the manual that came with the remote.
  
  Note The RCA VCR code will not work.
• You must keep the infrared receiver connected to the Xbox console.
