The hyperlink to a slide does not work when a comma is contained in the title of a slide presentation in PowerPoint

SYMPTOMS

You click a hyperlink to redirect you to a different slide in your slide presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint 2002, in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003, or in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007. When you do this, the hyperlink does not work.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the slide title to which you hyperlink contains a comma.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, edit the hyperlink to add the slide number and the slide title to the address, and then remove the comma from the address.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
