How to change billing information for your Xbox LIVE account

This article describes how to modify the billing information for your Xbox Live account.

Modify your billing information from a computer

To update your billing information, visit the following Microsoft Billing and Account Management Web site:

To update your personal information, follow these steps:

1. Sign in to the Billing and Account Management website.
2. Under Billing account overview, click Go to personal information.
3. Under Your personal information, click Edit personal information.
4. Enter the updated information on the Update personal information page, and then click Save.

To update your existing payment method information, follow these steps:

1. Sign in to the Billing and Account Management website.
2. Click the payment method that you want to update.
3. Under Payment method activity, click Go to payment method information.
4. Click Edit payment method information, enter the updated information on the Edit payment method information page, and then click Save.

To switch your subscriptions to a new Payment method follow these steps:

1. Under Your payment methods, click the payment method you want to change.
2. Under Payment method activity, click Go to payment method information.
3. Under Payment method information for this account, click Use a different payment method.
4. Click Add new credit card, and then click Next.
5. On the Confirm transfer page, confirm the balances and services you want to transfer, and then click Next.
6. Enter the information for the new payment method, and then click Save.

Note

Your services and balances will be transferred to the new payment method. The old payment method will be removed after this transfer and you can no longer use the removed payment method without re-adding it to your account.

Modify your billing information from a console

Xbox 360 console

To modify your contact information, follow these steps:

1. From the Xbox Dashboard in the My Xbox area, select the active Xbox LIVE Profile.
2. Select Manage Account .
3. Select Contact Information.
4. Enter your Windows Live ID and your password.
5. Select the item that you want to modify, and then press the A button. The following items are available to edit:
   • Address
   • City
   • Zip/Postal code
   • Phone
   • Email address

To modify your credit card details, follow these steps:

1. From the Xbox Dashboard, in the My Xbox area, select the active Xbox LIVE Profile .
2. Select Manage Account .
3. Select Memberships.
4. Select Current membership.
5. Select Change payment options.
6. You can edit your current credit card details or select Add Credit card to enter a new or alternative credit card.

Original Xbox console

To modify your contact information or your credit card details, follow these steps:

1. From the Xbox Live Dashboard, press the B button.
2. Select the account that you want to modify, and then press the A button.
3. Select Account Management, and then press the A button.
4. On the Account Management screen, select Credit Card.
5. When you are prompted, press the A button.
6. Enter the last four digits of your credit card, select Done, and then press the A button.
7. Select the item that you want to modify from the list, and then press the A button. The following items are available to edit:
   • Payment Method
   • Cardholder Name
   • Credit Card Number
   • Expiration Date
   • Phone Number
8. Select Continue, and then press the A button. The following items appear:
   • Postal Code
   • State/Territory
   • City
   • Street Address
   • E-mail Address
9. To modify an item, select the item, and then press the A button.
