Both the DNS and the NetBIOS name of a domain can be changed using the domain rename procedure. This Support WebCast presents an overview of the procedure must be completed to carry out a domain rename operation, the transformations that occur in the underlying infrastructure, the constraints on a domain rename operation, and practical tips on Do’s and Don'ts based on our self-hosting experience at Microsoft. This is a Level 300 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=gp;en-us;webcastlevels&sd=gn) session that will be presented by Arun Nanda. Arun Nanda is a senior Program Manager in the Active Directory development team responsible for emerging technology. He is currently focused on developing engineering specifications for features in the next two releases of Windows (code named Longhorn and Blackcomb). He was also instrumental in and a key driver for several Active Directory features in the Windows Server 2003 release, such as application directory partitions, schema delete, domain rename, and user-based object quotas in the directory database.
