FIX: Commerce Server 2002 AuthFilter Cannot Authenticate When Used with an Exchange 2000 OWA Application

SYMPTOMS

When you use the authentication functionality of the Commerce Server 2002 AuthFilter to protect your Microsoft Exchange 2000 Outlook Web Access (OWA) application, log on may fail. This problem occurs if a cookie value exists that has a comma at the end.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
