SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 3 (SP3) and Windows 2000 SP3, the DLLHost.exe may stop responding and memory use may increase unexpectedly after a COM+ failfast occurs. More than 50 threads may be calling the CPool::Get method.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix Information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
