FIX: Web Pages That Use SSL Certificates from Equifax Do Not Successfully Authenticate

SYMPTOMS

Web pages cannot successfully authenticate (by means of https://) by using Equifax certificates.

This article discusses an updated system root store that has the latest Secure Certificate Authority certificate.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the certificate for the Equifax Certificate Authority (CA) that belongs in the system root store is missing.

A supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows CE 4.2 Core OS QFE 820116. To resolve this problem immediately, click the following article number for information about obtaining Windows CE Platform Builder and core operating system software updates:
