BUG #: 13997 (Plato7x)
A lazy aggregation might fail and you receive the following error message, after Analysis Services performs an incremental update of a changing dimension:
Error during lazy aggregation of partition xxxxx in cube xxxxx
This error message is logged in the application event log.
After Analysis Services performs an incremental update of a changing dimension, it deletes the existing aggregations and indexes for the cubes that contain that changing dimension. Then, it rebuilds the aggregations and indexes in the background. The rebuild is required because members in a changing dimension may move positions in the dimension hierarchy during an incremental update.
The error message shown earlier in the article indicates that Analysis Services did not rebuild aggregations and indexes.
To work around this problem you can either:

SQL Server 2000 Analysis ServicesThe English version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4.
