Windows taskbar is listed on the Applications tab as a
running program. This behavior may occur although you have not started OneNote
and OneNote does not appear to be running. Note To start Windows Task Manager, press CTRL+ALT+DEL, and then click Task Manager. CAUSEThis behavior is caused by the quick launch functionality of
Side Note. When you start the Microsoft Windows operating system, the quick
launch functionality of Side Note also starts. If the Place OneNote icon in the taskbar option is turned on in OneNote, the quick launch functionality of Side Note runs in the background. The quick launch functionality of Side Note is listed in Windows Task Manager as Microsoft Office OneNote 2007 - Windows taskbar or as Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 - Windows taskbar. RESOLUTIONTo turn off the quick launch functionality of Side Note,
right-click the Open new side note icon in the notification
area, and then click Remove OneNote Icon. When you do this,
OneNote does not run in the background. Additionally, OneNote is not listed as
a running program in Windows Task Manager when OneNote is not
running. To restore the quick launch functionality of Side Note, follow these steps:
